Keynote speaker Brian Moyer will highlight the conference theme of Farming for the Modern Market, speaking to the changing economic times and how we are positioned locally to address these challenges. For the last six years he has served on the board of directors of Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA), for the last 2 years as the Vice President. | 25th Annual Mayfest Arts & Crafts Festival |
Bennington |
May 29 |
Web |
| |
|
Main Street, Downtown Bennington |
| |
| |
|
Mayfest is Vermont's largest juried arts & crafts festival. Artisans and specialty food vendors come from all over to participate in Vermont’s premiere spring kickoff event. Mayfest artisans or their family members create and design all wares sold. In 2009 over 12,000 people attended.
Our recent addition of over 12 live entertainment venues took the event to a new level adding excitement and turning Mayfest into a day-long event.
Main Street becomes a pedestrian only thoroughfare for Mayfest; the street will be filled with fantastic artisans and entertainers. Fairgoers parade up and down the street inspecting and purchasing the handiwork of talented crafts people. Again, we will be organizing the booths so that there will be four to a group in the middle of Main St. Every artisan will be able to sell from two sides of their booths. There will be plenty of space to walk around and much to see resulting in a pedestrian friendly environment.
Mayfest plays host to some of the finest jewelers, potters and art displays that can be seen anywhere in New England. In addition to quality crafters you will find many of the area’s fine non-profit organizations.
The Vermont Army National Guard will bring back their 100’ long obstacle course. – this will be located in the parking lot of Alldays & Onions’ next to their Beer Garden (featuring Vermont beers); the Bennington 4-H Club will be hosting a family activity area and air rifle shooting range and Catamount Access Television Station will be cablecasting Mayfest live in front of the Masonic Temple too.

Mount Snow area towns of Wilmington, Whitingham and Dover |
| |
| |
|
Berries, vintage cars, music, food and tarp displays; if it’s blue, it’s probably happening in the Mount Snow area towns of Wilmington, Whitingham and Dover in late July and early August.
Visitors to the Valley will find children’s activities, jam making, blueberry themed specials in the local eateries, blue music events, a blue car auto show, blueberry bake sales, blue beer, special “Blues fees” at Mount Snow’s Golf Course as well as pick your own blueberry opportunities
“It’s fun, it’s silly, and something everyone can take part in,” Boyd said of the event which she hopes will become an annual community event.
Blueberry Quest - Gateway to a blue experience! Pick up a "Passport to Blue Adventures" at the Chamber. Establishments hosting A Blue Event or Activity will be asked to sign or stamp the individual's Passport that participated or visited ... and the person with the most events attended will get a prize
