Vermont will once again share its culture and heritage with more than one million attendees at the Big E, New England’s largest agricultural fair, which commences this week in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The fair will run from September 14-30.
Vermont will be represented by exhibitors in the Vermont building, located on the Avenue of the States. A popular Big E attraction, the Avenue of the States houses smaller-scale replicas of each of the six original New England Statehouses. These buildings feature vendors and exhibitors which exemplify the heritage, food, traditions, and products from each respective state. Similar to national embassies, the buildings on the Avenue of the States are owned by their respective jurisdictions.
The Vermont building will showcase local foods and wares. Vermont musicians will also be in attendance, providing entertainment for guests on the front lawn of the Vermont building:
9/15: Prydein (A Celtic Rock Band)
9/16: Yankee Chank (Cajun and Zydeco)
9/22: The Brattleboro American Legion Band, Robert Resnik and Marty Morrissey (Folk musicians), Young Tradition Vermont – The Zeichner Family (Old Time/Appalachian trio)
9/23: Vermont Joy Parade (An eclectic blend of Americana, old-time, country, blues, Dixieland, and Klezmer)
9/29: Mayfly (Old Time New England/Applachian music)
9/30: Chris Dorman (Folk/Alternative)
